Operation America Cares collects, assembles and ships care packages to US troops serving overseas. The care packages include comfort items, pieces of entertainment, snacks, hygiene products and letters of encouragement.

Operation America Cares is a nonprofit network of volunteers that seeks to support America's soldiers and to thank them for their bravery and many sacrifices as they serve to protect our country. New volunteers are always welcome.

The purpose of this blog is to communicate with current and potential volunteers.

April Letter From Afghanistan

“On behalf of my squadron I would like to thank you very much for the care packages we received just as we were returning from a night in the field. We were pretty tired. The care packages show us that there are people out there who appreciate what we do. It’s a reminder of why we do it  and helps us to stay positive during this time away from our homes. When we begin to lose our motivation and feel as if people could care less about what we do we receive care packages and letters from complete strangers, which proves our sacrifices mean so much more.  So, thank you very much.  Cpl Matthew T.”

Next packing date

Our next official public packing date is Saturday, June 16th.  A local business asked to sponsor a LARGE packing in May, for Memorial Day receipt.  So generous!  We continue to collect supplies, so that we will have plenty for the June packing, so don't forget about us.  We will begin solicitations after May 10th.

In addition, we periodically get special requests and it is great to have supplies on hand.

Thanks so much for your continued support!

Letter from Afghanistan

Dear OAC,
I wanted to personally thank you for your time and effort supporting the Marines. We have been and I am sure we are not finished receiving several packages during this holiday period. It is a good feeling to know that patriots such as yourselves care enough about what we do to make the Marines happy with your gifts. After 10+ years it is not front page news anymore. So, those who remember us now are the true heroes. You make what we are doing much easier.
Sempre fi and thank you!
1st Sgt D.
